SCHOONER COVE
BEACH TRAIL
PACIFIC RIM NATIONAL PARK (Long Beach
section)
Schooner Cove Beach is a sandy
paradise in a wide bay located on the northern most point of
Long Beach in the Pacific Rim National Park. Some say it is
a more intimate and romantic beach setting because of its closed
in nature, less crowds and marine scenery. .
Schooner Cove Beach is accessed by a short 1
kilometre boardwalk trail through lush rainforests draped in
moss and ferns, seemingly, dripping from trees and coating the
edges of the creeks and streams. The trail is mostly boardwalk,
but that does not mean, "easy as pie" hiking. Nope,
the Schooner Cove Trail does involve some stair climbing up
and down before finishing up with some steps taking you out
onto the vast beach.
Many arrive at Schooner Cove Beach for some sunshine,
surf, swimming, reading, relaxing and cuddling. The sandy pebbled
beach is open to marine views and to all the ocean sounds found
on all the Pacific Rim National Park beaches.
