One of the longer hiking trails located in the Long Beach section of the Pacific Rim National Park. It is truly a treat for hikers and naturalists and all who appreciate the beauty and sounds of a living forest.
The Nuu-chah-nulth Hiking Trail is mostly a boardwalk trail which follows a crooked path dissecting through thick forests, crossing over wooden bridges and climbing up and down stairs leading to two beaches. An easy, very well maintained, boardwalk hike where the air is clean, fresh and filled with a thick pine, ocean salt scent.

The Nuu-chah-nulth Trail is a one way 2-5 kilometre historic hiking path over Quisiitis Point connecting Florencia Bay to South Beach and Wickaninnish Beach. The trail is highlighted with some First Nation People interpretive signs outlining their history and their respect for nature.
For some the distance may be an issue. Unless cars are parked on each end of the trail, the route is really a 5 kilometre hiking trail. There and back, basically, from which ever parking lot you decide to start from.
All visitors to the park must have a Park Use Permit.
How to get to Nuu-chah-nulth Trail from Wickaninnish Beach: From the Pacific Rim Hwy look for the road signs indicating the Wickaninnish Interpretive Centre. Turn on Wickaninnish Road towards the centre. Pass the centre and continue to the very end. Turn left and park. A short 1 kilometre well groomed trail leads to some stairs down to South Beach. Before the stairs take a left on the trail leading away from the coastline into the rainforest. This is the Nuu-chah-nulth Trail.
