Nuu-chah-nulth TrailNuu-chah-nulth Trail is a well maintained hiking trail located in the Pacific Rim National Park near the communities of Tofino and Ucluelet, British Columbia, Canada. The trail provides a great opportunity to visit sandy beaches and for exploring the rainforest on the west coast of Vancouver Island. The route follows along a boardwalk trail. A 2.5 kilometre one way hiking trail. There are hills. There are stairs leading up and down. Sometimes they are slippery, sometimes they are covered in moss. Along the trail there are bridges, wooden bridges, crossing over rumbling creeks and green swamp land. The adventure route takes hikers over Quisiitis Point. Located at each end of the trail are beautiful sandy beaches. On one end of the trail there is Florencia Bay and on the other end there is South Beach and Wickaninnish Beach. The Nuu-chah-nulth Trail mostly follows the coastline, zipping in and out of the rainforest. The air is salty from the ocean. And sometimes there is a mist in the breeze. Along the trail are a few sitting benches, peek-a-boo ocean views and many, many First Nation interpretive signs. Signs provide a look into the lives of the First Nation people. There are signs of culture, tradition and heritage. Some signs identify the species living in the forest. Some signs tell stories of survival and instinct. There are pit toilets, picnic tables and parking at each of the beaches. When exploring the entire 2.5 kilometre trail some decide to park a car on each end. All visitors to the park must have a Park Use Permit. Pack out what you pack in. A short 1 kilometre well groomed trail leads to some stairs down to South Beach. Before the stairs take a left on the trail leading away from the coastline into the rainforest.
